Flipnotics Reunion + Springsteen Tribute
Mar 31st, 2009 Posted in Miscellany | no comment »Dear friends,
There are things I think you should know.
Things about me.
Things about the future.
Things about Austin, Texas.
Two things, to be exact.
The first is this: Matt the Electrician and I are reuniting this Thursday at Flipnotics on Barton Springs. We lost the Triangle location and the gig therein about a month ago. Now it’s time to get back to business as only two seated harmonizers can. Acoustically. Lyrically. With flair beyond compare. Like Macho Man Randy Savage. Golden brown calzones. A distant rustling that lets you know you’re not alone.

The second is this: Monday night, I present the 2nd Annual-ish Songwriter Tribute to Bruce Springsteen! Come on out to the Cactus Café for over a dozen fine performers and a varied collection of Boss covers. Trust me, if you have any love for Bruce, you won’t want to miss this show. Last time was one of my favorite nights of the 21st Century. Tell your friends, and remember this is a benefit for the Capital Area Food Bank. There is no cover, but please bring non-perishable food and/or cash/check to help the Bank in this troubled time. Consider it a birthday present for ol’ Southpaw. I’ll paste their suggestions below.
