Sometimes people give me things at shows. Tips, e-mail addresses, drinks, advice, mononucleosis, etc. I dig it. Last week, at Flipnotics @ the Triangle, Bruce McCormick gave me a picture of a chalkboard. Lo, this was no ordinary chalkboard, mind you, because on it, his wife Rebecca had created a work of art inspired by my song Moon Whore. (Available on Matt the Electrician & Southpaw Jones, Playing: Live @ Café Mundi.) I absolutely love it. It was a complete surprise, it’s beautiful, and it contains two heavenly bodies! Rebecca is a Chalkboard Artist here in Austin, the kind of town where art inspires art which in turn inspires art, then we all lay in the sun for a while before making more art. Thanks for sharing, Bruce & Rebecca!
