Mme. Calve, who arrived in New York yesterday on the Kronprinzessin Cecilie to sing at thirty concerts in different cities of the United States, had an experience with a big wave on the promenade deck of the liner last Friday afternoon that ruined a handsome French gown and caused the prima donna to hurry back into the cabin faster than she had walked for many years.
