Songs for Hire

• Everyone deserves a theme song, right?
• What do you give the person who has everything?
• Is there something unique, engaging, and intriguing you can add to your website?
• How can you celebrate a wedding, anniversary, or birthday in a touching, unforgettable way?
• Where can you find a powerful tool to promote a business, group, or cause?

I am attempting to answer all of these questions with my new Songs for Hire program. My songs are original, heartfelt, smart, and fun, and I want to create and record fresh work that really matters to you and yours. I have a great deal of experience writing in response to challenges, themes, and titles. Here are some examples of my assigned work:

I would like to see this list grow, so I am offering a portfolio-building price of $298 per song, which includes composition and recording. When all is said and done, you’ll have a quality, multi-instrument, home recording in MP3 or CD format that you can use for any non-commercial purpose you like.

Here’s how it works in five easy steps:

1. You decide you would like a song for your loved one, special occasion, or business, and you send a e-mail to southpaw@southpawjones.com with your idea. This should occur about a month before you need the recording.

2. I respond with my availability, a reasonable deadline, and some questions about the song’s content and your expectations.

3. You submit a non-refundable deposit of $149 (via cash, check or PayPal), and after 10 days, I send you a rough draft recording of my initial idea.

4. If you decide to proceed, we discuss any changes you would like and the due date for your final recording.

5. I exchange a final, polished home recording for an additional $149 payment, you love it, and you can keep and share the song for the rest of your life.

Some things to consider:

• If you are unable to afford $298, consider splitting the cost with family members, business partners, or teammates.

• I will retain the right to use your song as a Southpaw Jones song, which means I can perform it, re-record it, and/or release it if I so desire. This provision will ensure that I am motivated to write the best song possible, and you can still use your copy of the song for non-commercial and web-based purposes as long as you like. If you decide to use it on radio or television, we can negotiate further terms.

• I am excited to write songs that truly matter in the lives of cool people. Please help me spread the word and keep my Songs for Hire program in your mind for the next time you hear someone say, “I want to do something special…”
