Tax Day @ The Whip In

Austinites! Thanks to all of you who helped celebrate my birthday last week. I had a grand ol’ time, and I appreciate all the chocolate, booze, shirts, and miscellaneous goodies I found in my tip jar and hands. Brian Kremer brought the sizzling guitar and helped keep me on my stool. It will be a hard show to top.

But I must try. I must try Thursday night.

Once again, my weekly show falls on a day of significance, Tax Day. I have never enjoyed paying taxes, so I’ve always made very little money. I do enjoy tax-funded things, though, and I borrow loads of DVDs from the public library to make up for the slice I do pay. I also utilize paved roads, I only visit restaurants that bear the mark of a health inspector, and I tell a police officer every time someone hits me in the face.

I understand, though, some folks hate taxes, and they love to rant about it. No one loves taxes, everyone loves Texas, and Texas doesn’t take income taxes. What am I trying to say here? Whatever your passion, rev it up and bring it to the glorious Whip In Thursday at 8 pm. I’ll play a solo show, older and wiser, and we’ll try to make sense of it all together. There is never a cover, and I appreciate $5 in the tip jar if you have it.

Remember, the food and drink at the Whip In are top notch, as are the beer, wine, chocolate, coffee, and incense selections.

See you then,
Southpaw
