Tonight, August 13, Video, Song

Yes, that Wednesday on my platinum desk calendar means I have a show tonight with Matt the Electrician at Flipnotics. 8:30 pm. The song title of the week is “Capital of Kitsch.” The last few weeks have been great, and we appreciate your support. We only have two more shows before we take a break in August, so fill up on our musical buffet this evening.

I continue to gear up for my Left Handers Day solo show at the legendary Cactus Cafe on Thursday, August 13. I plan to have some new songs and unearthed old songs. Get those early requests in now! I set up a Facebook event page for the show, so you can help spread the word if you’re into that sort of thing.

Last weekend, I posted my new YouTube video of “My LOST Theme Song.” If you love the TV show, or just keytar, or just grainy images of me, check it out and share it. I’m not sure how much longer I can stand to look myself singing on a computer screen, but I’m trying to be young and hip and in motion for the greater good. Here’s the link:

And finally, it’s time to select a Song of the Week. I think with all the talk of reverse racism and Sotomayor and arresting Harvard scholars for no good reason, it’s time to dig out my “White Boy Blues” from The Southpaw Jones Starter Kit. I don’t have the lyrics posted yet, but you can hear a younger Southpaw lay it all down right here:
